To be considered for TECF funding, applicants must meet eligibility & funding criteria:

Eligibility Criteria

You must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit or fiscally sponsored initiative, serve children ages birth–12, align clearly with TECF’s mission and values, present a 12-month plan with defined goals and impact outcomes, provide financial oversight documentation: Audit (preferred), Financial review, or Fiscal sponsor letter.

Funding Categories

TECF offers flexible, impact-driven support across three funding types: Program Funding, for initiative-based efforts, delivery, curriculum, materials, outreach. Operating Support, for organizational strength, staffing, planning, coordination. Capital Support, for infrastructure, equipment, physical spaces, long-term upgrades. *Funding amounts and timelines are tailored to need, community impact, and readiness.

Application Process

Step One: Letter of Intent (LOI): Let us know what you’re building before diving into full application materials. LOI should include: 

  • Organization name and contact info
  • IRS determination letter
  • Short initiative description
  • Population served (age group, geography, context)
  • Connection to TECF’s mission
  • Budget estimate and total funding request
  • Type of funding requested (Program, Operating, or Capital)
  • Submit LOI Form – Response Time: Typically 2–3 weeks

Step 2: Full Proposal (by invitation) If your initiative aligns with TECF’s goals, you’ll be invited to submit a full application.

Required Materials:

  • Project Summary (max 2 pages)
  • Organizational Background
  • Aligned Budget & Impact Goals
  • Financial Oversight Documentation
  • Letters of support
  • Testimonials or photos illustrating impact

Review Timeline & Approval Structure:

TECF follows a multi-step, mission-aligned decision process:

LOI Submissions: Rolling, year-round

LOI Review: Within 2–3 weeks

Full Application: Invited on a rolling basis

Final Decision: Typically 6-8 weeks

GOVERNANCE & APPROVAL

LOI's are reviewed by TECF’s internal team and final grant decisions are made by the Board of Directors. We uphold transparency, role separation, and equitable review practices.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

Grantees agree to: Submit mid-year and final reports using TECF’s Access, Capacity, Sustainability framework, Participate in shared learning and storytelling, Share lived experiences through testimonials or visuals when appropriate
